Minor League Rules

Updated Sunday April 10, 2016 by Melissa McElroy.

HCYBA recognizes Minor League as an instructional league.  In order to encourage coaches to treat it as such and give players the best skills-focused coaching possible, the following rules are implemented:

1.  No leading off.

2.  No balks.

3.  Runners must slide on ALL close plays or an automatic out.

4.  No stealing home on a passed ball.

5.  A 5 run limit will apply per inning.

6.  All players will be included in the batting order.

7.  Each player must play defense at least six outs per game.

8.  10 players may play the field.

9.  The time limit for each game will be 1 hour and 45 minutes.

All other Cal Ripken rules are to be followed with noncompliance resulting in forfeiture of game.
